Graphics and pictures on web sites can make them look more
professional and help to keep visitors on the site longer, or
when done poorly they can drive viewers to exit quickly.
As part of developing your web site, I can optionally prepare
all the image files for your site. Minimally I would
ensure they are the smallest size possible for fast loading
while still maintaining visual quality. You may also hire
a graphics artist to create professional pictures/graphics which
you might also want to use in printed marketing materials, or
you can create your own images to provide to me.
Again, the cost of preparing images for your web site is
charged on a per-hour basis, so knowing what you want is
critical to keeping the overall price affordable. Graphic
artist based businesses specialize in helping you create a
signature presence in the marketplace. If you are unsure
what you want, I would recommend this path.
Protection and Copyright
I ensure that all the images and other graphics I create for
your web site are new and unique. This prevents you from
any potential lawsuit or collection for use of protected images.
I either utilize a picture I have taken, one you supply which
you have rights to use, or create a graphic from scratch.
I also ask that you ensure your right to use any and all images
you supply to me. I may edit, combine, adjust or otherwise
alter photos or images to create the look you desire.
A third party service is available for placing a protective
watermark into an image which is only visible when printed.
This can help to protect any artwork you may choose to display
on your web site. I can perform the setup for you and edit
the images to insert the watermark. Extra fees from the
third party will be your responsibility.
Printed Materials
For high quality, printed materials typically require a
resolution of 300 dpi (dots per inch) while a web site would
utilize 72 dpi. If you desire images for use in printed
materials it is necessary that you specify this up front,
otherwise all images would need to be recreated from the
beginning. Minimal extra costs to adjust the resolution
and maintain two versions should be expected.
Additionally, I can prepare digital files of flyers,
brochures, business cards, and other formats which you can have
printed by a professional printer. This again, is charged
on a per-hour basis.
